This is an amazing achievement by our Sports and Youth minister!

Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman, who is the youngest cabinet minister in Malaysia has been named one of the most influential young person in the world.

The Malay Mail reported that Apolitical picked Syed Saddiq for its 2018 list of 100 Future Leaders: The World’s Most Influential Young People in Government.

If you didn’t know, Apolitical is a London-based global platform that aims to connect policymakers and public servants. Their list comprises people aged 35 years old and younger who are “making an impact early in their government careers”.

The people on the list were reportedly nominated by governments, international organisations (United Nations and the OECD), universities (Georgetown and Harvard) and business organisations.

Adding on, the PPBM (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) Youth wing chief, who will turn 26 years old on 6 December 2018, was also included in the top 20 most influential youths in government. Astounding!

Upon learning about the list, Syed Saddiq dedicated his achievement to the youth of Malaysia. He was quoted as saying,

“The youth should never be an afterthought but a priority in the nation-building process. It is an honour to be listed as one of the World’s 100 Most Influential Young People for 2018.”

“But it is an even greater honour to serve the youth of Malaysia. I dedicate this to the youth of Malaysia whom I am proud to serve.”

Well, we are also proud of your achievement!

We hope that our country’s youths will be inspired by Syed Saqqid’s achievement and work harder to achieve their own success. To Syed Saddiq, congrats and keep making Malaysia proud!
